Native Texan Cassidi Conti was expecting to face some obstacles when she moved to Danger Cove and opened The Clip and Sip, a hair salon that gives away free drinks. What she wasn’t counting on was a client dying during a dye job. But when eighty-year-old Margaret Appleby comes in for her biweekly appointment, that’s exactly what happens: Margaret drinks her usual soy chai, dozes off under the dryer…and doesn’t wake up. Now The Clip and Sip is under suspicion, clients are wary, and Cassidi is on a mission to prove that while her styles may be killer, her employees are innocent! But as Cassidi wades through the myriad of suspects in the small, costal town, the killer sets his sights straight on everyone’s favorite stylist. If Cassidi doesn’t watch her back, she may just end up Danger Cove’s latest fashionable victim.

Uncle Vinnie was the black sheep of the Conti family. The family had no idea what dark dealings Vinnie had been involved with. After he was murdered, his twenty six year old niece, Cassidi, inherited his historical building in Danger Cove, Washington. Being a good time for a fresh start, Cassidi, who had been a hairdresser in Texas, attempts to open The Clip and Sip with help from her cousin, Gia, a makeup artist from New Jersey.

As the book opens, business is not yet booming and Cassidi is still remodeling. Vinnie's decor paid homage to the building's previous history as a bordello. Cassidi's fresh start hits some snags.

When a woman dies in a salon chair, who will be blamed?

Especially since the dead woman turns and remains a peculiar shade of blue!
As little as the Conti family knew about Uncle Vinnie's activities, throughout this story Cassidi begins to understand how little any of us knows about others, even those we feel close to.

While trying to prove the innocence of her friend and employee, Lucy, Cassidi discovers secrets about several town residents, including Lucy, Uncle Vinnie and the dead woman.

Treasure is another theme of this story. Danger Cove was founded by pirates, smugglers and other forms of privateers. Could there still be treasure hidden nearby? No one hopes so more than Gia. Well, maybe hunky boat builder, Zac Taylor.

The book is filled with adventure, dangerous (yet humorous) escapades as Cassidi and friends try to discover a killer. They never even considered

that Vinnie's murder might be tied to the second death in the building.
The expressions in both German and Jersey Italian will keep you smiling.
And keep your eyes open for a cameo appearance by a famous local mystery writer!

As if a fantastic mystery and zany, colorful characters are not enough, Traci shares recipes and how to get more involved with her and her books at the end.

I enjoy visiting Danger Cove and will read each book about it.
